"My Son, the Tzaddik" - Letter of Recommendation from Rabbi Aryei Leib, Son of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter
A letter of recommendation written and signed by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Horowitz.
The letter was written on behalf of his aunt, the sister-in-law of Rabbi Rephael Yom Tov Lipman - the famed Oneg Yom Tov. She wanted men to learn in memory of her husband and had no means to pay for the service.
Rabbi Aryeh Leib Horowitz , Av Beis Din of Brezin and author of the Chayei Aryeh, was the son of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter, founder of the mussar movement, and son-in-law of Rabbi Rephael Yom Tov Lipman of Bialystok, author of Sefer Oneg Yom Tov. He was a renown Torah giant and referred to by his father Reb Yisrael as "Bni Hatzaddik – my son the tzaddik”.
